Background: UNICEF Türkiye, committed to fostering the next generation of environmentally conscious and digitally skilled youth, partnered with us to design and implement an innovative program aimed at high school students and teachers. The “Green and Digital Transformation Program” was conceived to equip participants with the skills necessary to navigate and contribute to a rapidly changing world, where sustainability and digital proficiency are key.

The Challenge: In an era where both environmental awareness and digital competence are crucial, UNICEF Türkiye identified a gap in the education system: students and teachers needed structured, practical training in these areas. The challenge was to create a comprehensive program that would not only educate but also inspire and engage participants, while also integrating support from the private sector to ensure sustainability and real-world relevance.

Our Approach:

To effectively address the needs of both students and educators in developing green competencies and digital skills, our approach was centered on collaboration, practical application, and sustainable integration with industry partners.

• • Collaborated closely with UNICEF Türkiye to design the “Green and Digital Transformation Program,” focusing on hands-on, interactive learning.
  • Developed a comprehensive handbook on “Green Competencies and Digital Transformation” to serve as a foundational resource for students and teachers.
  • Facilitated training sessions that engaged and equipped over 100 students and teachers with essential green and digital skills.
  • Designed the training to be practical and immediately applicable, ensuring participants could use their new skills in real-world contexts.
  • Planned and implemented the involvement of private sector partners to provide additional resources, expertise, and align skills training with current and future job market demands.
  • Ensured the program’s sustainability and scalability through strategic integration of private sector involvement, bridging the gap between education and industry.
